Short Play Festival FAQ

When will the Short Play Festival stream? 

We will stream the festival including plays and panel as videos on demand from Nov 6-19, 2023.

When can I see the videos? Is there a time limit?

The videos are on demand, when you purchase a ticket to view our plays, you can watch the videos anytime and as often as you want to watch between Nov 6-19, 2023. 

How can I see the Short Play Festival?  

You can view both videos on demand on STELLAR, a streaming service after you purchase your tickets. You can get Stellar apps through App Store, Google Play, Amazon Appstore, or Roku. Desktop works as well!

To access the video please go to www.stellartickets.com and click on YOUR TICKETS. If your event took place on a date in the past scroll down to the PAST EVENTS.

Then click on your event, and then click on the WATCH button. You must make sure you are logged in under the email address under which you purchased your tickets.

Within a few minutes, you will receive an email receipt from Deaf Spotlight’s Stripe account and purchase confirmation email from support@stellartickets.com with a subject line that corresponds to your purchase.

Two reminder emails are sent, first at 24 hours before the event start time and then again one hour before the event.

When you purchase access to a video on demand will receive an email when that video is ready to view, whether that is immediately after purchase or when the VOD is available at a later date.

How long is the video?

The plays video is 1 hour and 24 minutes long.

The panel video is 47 minutes long.

 

Are there any trigger warnings/ content warnings?

Beautiful Boy: illness and death/dying

Flower Dance: death and houseless-ness

Plant A Kiss: light profanity

Fifty Flowers: war trauma

Flower Dance: houseless-ness, death

Toxic Flower: bullying

Will the plays and/or panel be voice interpreted?  

Both videos: plays and panel will not be voice interpreted. Both videos will have options: CCs and no CCs.

What if I have an access request?  

Please send in your access requests to info@deafspotlight.org.

 

Is the Festival children-friendly?  

The Short Plays have mature content (death, suicide, homelessness, etc) and are not suitable for youths.  

 

How much is a ticket?  

We are using a different ticketing approach this year. We are using Radical Hospitality Ticket Program, inspired by Sound Theatre Company and other organizations to make our event more inclusive and welcome for all.  Ticket range are: $5, $15, $25 or $50. You will have an opportunity to make an additional donation at the check out.

All proceeds will go back to the festival’s overhead expenses and participating artists.
