BEAUTIFUL BOY

A long-time florist shop owner on Castro Street decides to get his financial books in order. Anthony has been prosperous, but harbors tremendous guilt over his success when so many of his friends died in the AIDS crisis over 30 years ago. He hires an accountant, and embarks on a journey of acceptance and healing.

Rob Roth | Playwright

Rob Roth has a long history in Deaf theatre, beginning in 1971 with the Chicago Theatre of the Deaf. He produced several plays in ASL in Los Angeles and Seattle and has acted in a grand total of one play – as an heir to a pickle fortune. Writing for theatre is a new and very enjoyable experience for him.

Tyler DeShaw | Director

Tyler grew up participating in the Deaf Youth Drama Program led by Howie and Billy Seago. A Roosevelt HS graduate, he attended Gallaudet and Boston University and taught at Washington School for the Deaf for ten years. A Seattlelite born and raised, Tyler is thrilled to return to his roots.

Joshua Castille is a Deaf artist based out of Los Angeles, California. He is known for the following: Ernst (Spring Awakening, Broadway), Quasimodo (Hunchback, 5th Ave), Romeo (Romeo and Juliet, ACT Theatre). Soon to be seen in the upcoming Fox anthology series ACCUSED. Josh strives to form meaningful collaborations that explore the boundaries of art. Amidst the adrenaline rushes, he harbors the humility of knowing that no matter how you communicate, you have a voice to be heard. Joshua is repped by KMR & Associates.

Omar Faust | Stage Manager

Omar is a mixed race producer, stage manager, director, and all around facilitator of others’ boundless creativity. They have worked at Theater Schmeater, Annex, Pork Filled Productions, Seattle Children’s Theatre, and Seattle Public Theater. They love playing Magic, D&D, and just about any board game out there.

Irvine Stewart | as Anthony

Irvine Stewart was born to Helen and Jim Hayse Stewart in Joplin, Missouri. He was discovered to be deaf at the age of 3 years old due to unknown cause. Mr. Stewart found The Wilds Zappers in 1990 with support of Warren Snipe and Fred Beam. He was also actor from Bob Daniel’s “I Didn’t Hear That Color” in 1991. He is thrilled to return to performing arts this year. Mr. Stewart is currently working as therapist at ADWAS.
